About the Litter

"Let's face it boys and girls, the trash heap knows all!" - Marjorie, the Trash Heap

And so she does.

Just as Marjorie whispers truth to the Fraggles, so too does nature speak through this next generation of American Dirus™ dogs. On September 11th, 2025, the Fraggle Rock litter is expected to tumble into the den. They are sure to be bright-eyed, tail-wagging little seekers, each carrying the echoes of those who came before.

As a third generation, these pups will be more polished, more sure-footed in who they are: steady in temperament, strong in body, and beautiful in form. Yet, just like the Fraggles themselves, each one carries a spark of individuality. Genetic diversity hums in their veins, gifting them with immune strength and resilience, a rare treasure in the dog world.

This is a litter where the possibilities are many with personalities blooming in unique colors, yet all bound safely within the strong walls of health, stability, and gentle companionship.

Much like life down in Fraggle Rock where every character plays a special role, whether daring, thoughtful, silly, or wise, this litter will bring forward puppies of many shades, each ready to dance their own dance while remaining firmly rooted in the harmony of the pack.

APPEARANCE

We may see a few giants in this litter, but most puppies in this litter will be extra-large in size. Puppies will range in adult weights from 100 - 140 lbs, with females being generally smaller.

Statistically, the puppies from this litter will have the following coat color possibilities:

1. 75% silver wolf sable
2. 25% black (recessive)
3. 0% white
4. 0% black mask
5. 75% wolf mask (natural muzzle coloring)
6. 25% white mask
7. 0% white spotting
8. 0% tan points (black body/tan legs)
9. 0% furnishings (beard)
10. 0% feathering (long hair behind ears/legs and between toes)
11. 0% liver dilute
12. 87.5% amber/brown eye color
13. 12.5% yellow eye color
14. 100% normal muscling

All puppies will have a completely solid color with no white spotting on their toes, tail tip, chest/belly, and possibly on the muzzle. A select few puppies will show highly slanted, bright yellow eyes. Most puppies will have amber or brown eyes. All puppies will have medium to long double coat types without feathering or furnishings. We do expect most/all ears to rise, although some may rise early while others may rise later. Short, straight tails are expected. A few puppies may be giant in size, standing 30-31 inches tall at the shoulders and weighing ~130 lbs as adults. Most puppies will be extra large in size, standing ~28 inches tall at the shoulders and weighing 100 - 110 lbs as adults.

INHERITED TEMPERAMENT

This litter is a THIRD GENERATION with standardized temperament options.

Some puppies will be more confident than others. All puppies will be submissive and affectionate with their people. Loving, devoted and high intelligence will be especially prominent. Some puppies may have more of a velcro type personality. Some puppies may vocalize when excited or needy. All puppies should have a desire to remain at home and stay close without a desire to wander or roam. We will note any deviation from our unique family companion dog inherited temperament.

HEALTH

Both parents have been DNA tested clear of over 250 genetically inherited canine diseases and have high immune diversity. The puppies from this litter will be third generation (F3) American Dirus dogs. This means that three generations of hand-picked DireWolf Dogs lie within the pedigree before the most recent crossbreeding.

The inbreeding coefficient for this litter is 10% on a five generation pedigree with 80% ancestor loss coefficient on a four generation pedigree. 

Puppies will range in price from $3800 to $5400 for pet quality and more for breeding/show quality.

I will likely seek to keep a or two puppies with highly slanted eyes, especially if they are yellow. I shall have a preference for a wolf-masked puppy from this litter. I will also be highly interested in a puppy with a calm, confident demeanor. If I find a puppy with all of those traits, it will not be for sale.
