This puppy is very calm and collected. She does not get excited easily and remains in her space. She is not an explorer and does not have any desire to wander or roam. She is a home body and prefers the familiar. I don't have any indication that she is scared of nervous, but she is absolutely disinterested in anything unfamiliar. There was a point today where I thought perhaps she was deaf, which would be a first in our breed. She was lying inside the nursery on her side her with head up again the corner of two walls. I called out to her, but no response - not even a flick of the ear at the sound. She was sleeping, so I went inside the nursery to be closer to her and make a louder noise. Still no response. She was either in a very deep sleep, ignoring me, or deaf. I called even louder. Still nothing. No acknowledgement whatsoever. I then picked up a long stick-like object and touched her gently on the back. She immediately woke and looked around. Okay, not in a deep sleep, but was she ignoring me or deaf? I will be doing more experimenting in the next few days to find out for sure.
