About the Litter

As a second generation, the puppies in this litter will be highly genetically diverse.

Diversity will be your strength in these puppies. High immune diversity allows each puppy a better ability to withstand many health issues in dogs.

A litter with lots of different possibilities within strong boundaries of health, stable temperament, and beauty.

APPEARANCE

We may see one or two giants, but most puppies in this litter will be extra-large in size, weighing around 100 - 110 lbs and standing 28 inches tall at the shoulders when standing.

Statistically, the puppies from this litter will have the following coat color possibilities:

1. 50% silver wolf sable
2. 50% gold wolf sable
3. 0% pure white
4. 50% black mask
5. 50% wolf mask
6. 50% furnishings (mustache)
7. 0% feathering (long hair behind ears/legs and between toes)
8. 0% liver dilute
9. 87.5% yellow eye color
10. 12.5% amber/brown eye color
11. 50% normal muscling
12. 50% heavy muscling

Some puppies will have a completely solid color with no white spotting on their toes, tail tip, chest/belly, and possibly on the muzzle. Other puppies will show mild to significant white spotting, with some white striping on the top of the muzzle and possibly on the nape of the neck. Most puppies should show highly slanted, bright yellow eyes. A few puppies will have amber or brown eyes. All puppies should have medium to long double coat types without feathering. We expect most ears to rise, although some may take longer to rise than others and other may try to rise, but then ultimately drop back down. Short, straight tails are expected. A few puppies may be giant in size, standing 30-31 inches tall at the shoulders and weighing ~130+ lbs as adults. Most puppies will be average in size, standing ~28 inches tall at the shoulders and weighing 100 - 110 lbs as adults.

INHERITED TEMPERAMENT

This litter is a SECOND GENERATION and with diverse temperament options.

Some puppies will be more confident than others. All puppies will be submissive and affectionate with their people. Loving, devoted and high intelligence will be especially prominent. Some puppies may have more of a velcro type personality. Some puppies may vocalize when excited or needy. All puppies should have a desire to remain at home and stay close without a desire to wander or roam. We will note any deviation from our unique family companion dog inherited temperament.

HEALTH

Both parents have been DNA tested clear of over 250 genetically inherited canine diseases and have high immune diversity. The puppies from this litter will be second generation (F2) American Dirus dogs. This means that two generations of hand-picked DireWolf Dogs lie within the pedigree before the most recent crossbreeding.

The inbreeding coefficient for this litter is 2.93% on a five generation pedigree with 97% ancestor loss coefficient on a four generation pedigree. (VERY GENETICALLY DIVERSE, almost completely unrelated genetically.)

Puppies will range in price from $2800 to $3800 for pet quality and more for breeding/show quality.

The Dire Wolf Project must keep at least two males from this litter.

We may be open to co-owning one of the males to a family living within a days' drive to us in Eastern Washington state.

All other puppies will be sold.
