WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS
This puppy continues to grow well, without incident. He is robust and heavy in weight, although now not the largest puppy in the litter.
BIRTH
This male came shooting into the world at 10:45 pm Pacific. He arrived without his sack and slipped out head first, like an eel. This puppy had a little phlegm in its throat and coughed strongly to expel the excess. His placenta was not attached, but looked to have been broken off in transit.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #2
This puppy sat up during the rough pet. He was loose, not stiff, and silent... almost seeming to anticipate the rhythm of the petting. This puppy did not move forward or backward. This puppy was completely loose during the lift, not stiff in any way, even at the beginning. This puppy was silent. This puppy was loose, still, and silent during the turn. So much so that it was easy to turn him and place him in the correct position. This puppy has a slight head stiffness during the pet in an unfamiliar location. He then loosened. He was silent throughout. This puppy sat and looked around where he was placed with put back into the den away from his siblings. He then laid down right where he was placed and closed his eyes.
This puppy receives a score of 10 for this second temperament test.
WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS
This puppy is consistently calm and collected. He doesn't mind movement or being manipulated by humans, such as having his collar loosened. This puppy is generally loose and doesn't become agitated or excited by much. He is generally quiet and calm-minded.
WEEK ONE OBSERVATIONS
This puppy has a very even temperament. He does not appear to get cranky or upset very often. He allows others to walk/climb on him without fussing or moving. This puppy is strong, but generally calm and patient. He moves around with ease, but doesn't appear to get impatient or desperate for mom when she's been gone a long time. He doesn't cry out when picked up or moved, although he can fuss a bit when adjusting his collar or doing something that is unfamiliar to him.
24 HOURS - PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS
This puppy is a little inconsistent in his behaviors. He is mostly quiet and calm, only crying out when disturbed beyond a certain point. This will continues to be calm and self-assured when in new environments, such as when the blankets are changed or he is on the scale. This puppy does not wiggle when held. Just like his brother, Patrick, he appears to be a thinker. This means he will require processing time during training and a person willing to slow down and allow him to perform once he's understood the task. This puppy is the pick male.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #1
This puppy is extremely quiet. He has not vocalized at all, except for the initial cough. This puppy was still upon birth and remained loose and calm when picked up and moved around. This puppy was calm on the scale. No noise. This puppy fight my finger in his mouth. He cried out in protest. This puppy laid still when placed away from mom. He did not try to turn toward her and did not cry out. After the first 24 hours, this puppy remains quiet until touched, then he moves into action and grunts.
This puppy receives a score of 9 for this temperament test.
WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS
This puppy has fluffed out and looks to have a medium coat length with a fluffy mane and tail. This puppy is no longer the largest puppy in the litter, but now under Delaney and Patrick. This puppy continues to have deep black pigmentation without any white spotting. It is unclear whether he shows some golden tones to his tan points, or if he is a true silver.
WEEK ONE OBSERVATIONS
This puppy is the heaviest puppy in the litter. He also has the largest head. He is anticipated to be a giant in size, weighing ~130 lbs. as an adult.
Update (03/20/24): This puppy is not a reverse black wolf sable, as originally suspected. Instead he is a dark wolf gray... with a possible black mask. If this black mask doesn't lighten up in the next few weeks, then it will definitely be a black mask. He remains the heaviest pup in the litter, but his head is not as broad as his brother Patrick's.
BIRTH NOTES
This puppy is an extra-large reverse black wolf sable male weighing 1 lbs. 4.5 oz at birth. He has no white spotting and shows deep black pigmentation. He has a solid black nose. This puppy looks to have a short coat. He has a long thin tail. This puppy is long in body with a thinner frame.
