BIRTH NOTES:
Puppy #5 - 1:07 am, 15 5/8 lbs. female, she had a little fluid in her lungs, but not much, head first in the sack,
GENERAL NOTES:
This puppy seems to be self-assured, but also not very energetic. She is very laid-back, calm, and quiet. This puppy is not a playful spirit, but more on the serious side of life. However, she has a calm, gentle boldness to her temperament that allows her to remain quite unassuming and often looked over. She sleeps a lot and doesn't always seek out human attention or affection at this time, like a few of her brothers do. This puppy is highly intelligent and inquisitive, but in a calming quiet way. She is not bold or outgoing, but neither is she fearful or shy. This puppy is the perfect combination of quietly aloof. This puppy will not be clingy, but neither will she have a tendency to be independent. She will not be super motivated by food or play, but she will want to watch the world with her favorite people. This puppy will benefit from experiences that give her an ability to learn more about the world, even if she is more content as a home body without need for environmental stimulation. This puppy is super chill and laid back. She doesn't require a lot of play time. So, motivation experiences could be good for her, within reasonable limits so that she doesn't expect to have to always go out of her comfort zone. What a beautiful temperament she has. She could curl up in her shell and be a home body, content to live with her family. So a family who challenges her to get out of her happy home and explore the outside world a bit would be good for her. She is a quiet observer. Just like her brother Junior, although without the lack of confidence he shows from time to time, she will learn by watching. She doesn't need to interact to understand. She simply needs to watch others and learn from their example. This puppy is not going to want to repeat exercises over and over again for no reason. When she has it, she will not forget it. Repetition will seem mundane and boring for her. This is a great American Dirus™ dog temperament for a family who loves to snuggle by the fire with a good book.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #2
This puppy yawned once at the beginning of the rough pet. Then, she was still, loose, and quiet throughout the rest of the test. She laid down the entire time, not moving in any way other than the yawn. This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the lift. This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the turn. She did challenge the physical boundary once, but when she was met with resistance, she immediately loosened up again. Her tail laid on her belly throughout this task. Oh, she also pumped one of her back feet in a gentle manner at the end of the task, but did not move any part of the rest of her body, which all remained loose. This puppy sniffed all around and looked at the handler directly when placed in an unfamiliar environment. She did not flinch when touched on the head in this environment. She was loose, still, and quiet. She yawned once at the end. This puppy sniffed all around the sides of the basket without getting up from a down. She was quiet throughout. This puppy moved directly toward the handler and in between the handler's feet when placed back into the den away from her siblings. This puppy then laid down in the middle of the handler's feet resting her head on the handler's leg for a nap. This puppy was silent and loose throughout this task.
This puppy receives a score of 10 for this second temperament test.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #1
This puppy grunted softly at a consistent rate during the first 24-hours after birth. This puppy was wiggled slightly, but quiet, when turned. This puppy was loose, still, and quiet on the scale. This puppy moved with ease to where she wanted to go when placed back with her siblings.
This puppy receives a score of 8 for this first temperament test.
BIRTH NOTES:
grunting, still on the scale, some wiggling when lifted,
4 WEEK UPDATE
This puppy appears to be a giant female... or at least extra large in size. She rivals the size of her two giant brothers, at this time. This puppy appears to have a wolf mask that lightens over time. This puppy is pudgy and eats well. This puppy has lighter, possibly yellow eyes. If not completely yellow, then light amber.
BIRTH NOTES:
silver wolf gray female, large in size with thinner build at this point
