03/02/2025: 3 lbs 5.5 oz
BIRTH NOTES:
This puppy weighed 1 lbs. 11 oz. at birth. This is the heaviest female puppy ever born into the Dire Wolf Project.
GENERAL NOTES:
03-16-2025
This puppy is a thinker. I know I said that already down below, but this continues to be very evident. She analyzes everything. It will be important for her family to understand her need to observe and analyze before moving forward if she is in any way uncertain. This female loves affection and attention, but does not like to be smothered. She will learn new tasks with ease, but will require a solid trusting relationship where boundaries are clear and rules are consistent. This is because she wants order and regularity in her life. She doesn't like to be confused. Her price reflects our lack of a desire to keep her in the breed for breeding. It does NOT reflect her worth as a companion dog. This puppy will be an excellent companion dog with a loyal and devoted nature, especially if the family understands her need to process and analyze unfamiliar situations.
03-02-2025
This puppy appears to be highly intelligent. She is a thinker and analyzer. She is not bold, but neither is she fearful. She does startle when something unexpected happens, but her recovery rate is just fine without continued fear or anxiety. This puppy does not appear to be highly energetic, but she does have a body type that is on the thinner side. She is more athletic looking, but her demeanor is on the slower, methodical side. This puppy will want to take time to analyze a situation that is unfamiliar before moving forward. She is not bold, nor does she rush into new environments without observation.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #2:
This puppy moved left and right and then left again in a circle when rough pet. She did not make any noises, but her body was slightly stiff and unyielding. This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the lift. This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the turn... so much so that her head tilted back and she closed her eyes. This puppy laid down where she was placed back into the den away from her siblings. She stayed there was fifteen seconds at which time she slowly moved to the left in a nonchalant or easy going way. She did not appear stiff at this time. This puppy slowly and methodically searched along the bottom of the basket. She did not whine or cry during this time.
This puppy receives a score of 8.8 for this second temperament test.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #1:
This puppy squirmed when picked up and placed onto the scale. She cried out loudly for her mom during this time. This puppy flinched when she was touch was a human. She recovered easily, but it was her first reaction to flinch. This puppy whined some during the first 24 hours after birth, but was otherwise quiet. This puppy went straight back to mom when placed back into the den.
This puppy receives a score of 6 for this first temperament test.
BIRTH NOTES:
This puppy squirmed on the scale, crying out for her mom. She flinched when her tail was touched unexpectedly.
FOUR WEEK NOTES:
This puppy remains the daintiest puppy in bone and body structure. She is small in stature and light in weight. This puppy may have a wolf mask, but it is still not a certainty. This puppy has small ears that will likely rise.
THIRD WEEK NOTES:
This puppy may have been the heaviest female we've ever had at birth, but her weight and growth has not kept up with her initial heaviness. She is no longer the largest puppy, let alone the largest female puppy, in the litter. Instead, she is now on the smaller, thinner side of life. She weighs the least at this time compared to her siblings. She has a thinner body type, as well, with thinner legs. She has a small head compared to her siblings, as well. Rosebud is a silver with a medium coat type. She does not appear to have a long mane and tail, so all of her hairs appear to be the same length at this time. Her black muzzle has not yet started to turn, so we are still uncertain if she has a wolf mask or a black mask.
BIRTH NOTES:
This puppy was born at 3:10 pm. She is a giant silver wolf gray female with a broad, muscular, robust physique. This puppy squirmed on the scale, crying out for her mom. She flinched when her tail was touched unexpectedly. This puppy weighed 1 lbs. 11 oz. at birth. She is the heaviest and largest female ever birthed at the Dire Wolf Project. This puppy has absolutely no white spotting and her nose was black at birth. She was born breech in the sack with a thick film that was hard to break open. She had a large placenta, as well. This puppy went straight for the milk bar and once there made no noise or movement.
