BIRTH NOTES:
This puppy weighed 1 lbs. 9.5 oz. at birth.

GENERAL NOTES:
03-16-2025
This puppy prefers to remain in the den and does not venture out beyond the den space for any length of time. He may like routine and the comforts of home. He will not be one to explore and will likely have a strong desire to remain at home and not wander off from his familiar life. This may, however, lend itself to a pup that would benefit from socialization training, as long as the new owner is aware of his emotional needs and not push him too far too soon. This puppy is sensitive and doesn't want to get in trouble or be scared. This puppy is an observant puppy, so sitting in a new environment without interacting much will give this puppy a chance to feel safe and secure before moving forward. By giving this puppy a respectful approach to socialization training, he will continue to gain in confidence instead of retreat into his shell, which he could do if pushed beyond his emotional capacity. This boy is very affectionate and bonded with his family. He often wags his tail to see me, but doesn't come out to greet me. I have to enter his space, which he loves. Couple this with his serious side, and you have a sweet, loving puppy with an introverted soul that loves routine and the safety and security of home life.

03-02-2025
This puppy is on the serious side of life. He is not as playful in situations or with people that he doesn't know. This puppy is generally quiet. He is not a bold puppy, but more of a quiet observer. This puppy will likely learn by watching, more typical of our higher generational American Dirus dogs.

TEMPERAMENT TEST #2

This puppy did not flinch during the loud noise portion of the test. This puppy was silent and loose, but he did turn to the right in a slow way moving back toward the puppy pile. This puppy was loose, still, and silent during the lift. He did yawn once, however. This puppy cried out during the turn as if the grasp from the human was painful or startling. This puppy was loose and still during the turn until the very end. The moment he felt the human begin to right him back over, he whined and began to turn himself, not waiting to be turned. Once righted, this puppy was still and quiet. This puppy softly explored the new surroundings, sniffing at the handler's legs until eventually walking back to the puppy pile. This puppy sniffed all around the bottom of the basket. He was quiet and slow-moving with a methodical feel to his movements.

This puppy receives a score of 8.5 for this second temperament test.

TEMPERAMENT TEST #1

This puppy was fussy and unsettled for the first few hours after birth. Once the other puppies arrived, he settled right down and no longer fussed or moved about uneasily. This puppy was silent and still for much of the time after this. This puppy did not grunt or whine when touched. He also was still and quiet on the scale. This puppy was relaxed and still during the turn. This puppy moved in close to his mom when placed back. He was quiet and still, staying in the same place much of the time.

This puppy receives a score of 9 for this first temperament test.

BIRTH NOTES:
This puppy was verbally fussy for the first few hours after birth. He grunted and whined during this time, moving about, not staying still. When placed on a warming pad (as he was the first puppy born), he quieted and went to sleep. Being the first puppy, his new mom was a little uneasy and moved around more trying to keep her puppy warm without knowing how to settle and relax. This may have contributed to her first puppy's fussiness. As soon as the second puppy was born, Galena settled and so did this puppy. We will observe this puppy in the next few days to find out about any consistency of this behavior.

FOUR WEEK UPDATE:
This puppy not only has highly slanted eyes, but they are bright yellow in color. This puppy is not as heavy or large as his brother, Nate, but is still quite an impressive size, nonetheless.

THREE WEEK UPDATE:
This puppy does appear to be a dominant black coloring, not a tan pointed puppy. This puppy has a more tapered muzzle than some of his brothers that have a blunt or more squared nose. This puppy has highly-slanted eyes. This puppy has a medium length coat with a long mane and tail without feathering or furnishings.

BIRTH NOTES:
Born at 8:20 am, giant black male with a tiny horizontal strip on chest. He weighed 1 lbs. 9.5 oz at birth. He whines when he wants something or has been moved, otherwise quite. He has a short coat. He was given the blue collar.
