Donner

Donner is extremely healthy. He has never had any tremors or seizures. He has not shown any signs of panosteitis (growing pains). He is the picture of perfect health.

Donner is 25% German Shepherd Dog, 25% silver Labrador Retriever, and 50% American Alsatian dog (from the founder's lines). This equates to a first-generation DireWolf Dog bred by the Dire Wolf Project in order to increase genetic diversity and bring in certain traits we were in need to increasing in the American Dirus dog lines. Namely, we needed a little bit more confidence and self-assuredness as well as other outward appearance traits.

As such, Donner embodies a much more bold, self-confident, happy-go-lucky, outgoing personality, much more in line with his Labrador Retriever roots on his mother's side. Donner would make an excellent family protection dog as he easily alerts the family to any intruders or evil-doers. Donner is highly aware of his surroundings and is often "on guard", which he receives from his German Shepherd Dog ancestry on his mother's side. He loves affection and attention. He has a good amount of energy and is intelligent.

He would do well in a family who loves to go fishing, hiking, camping, backpacking, hunting, or any other outdoor activity. Donner does not wander or roam.

He is submissive, but bold in nature, so he doesn't wilt or wither when scolded.

Donner also received a confident nature from his father, a third-generation American Alsatian dog from the Schwarz Kennels with recent English Mastiff ancestry.

Donner's combination of bold, energetic, alert, willing, and affectionate temperament is perfect for an active family who doesn't mind a dog that alert barks. A great family dog that doesn't mind being everywhere with his family. He'll be happy to hang out in the garage as you work on your truck. He'll also be happy to flush out the birds on a duck hunting outing. A great all-around outdoorsy-family's tail-waggin' best friend.

Donner is an extra-large silver wolf gray with a black mask, golden eyes, drop ears, and a long-thin muzzle. His double coat is thin and sheds water easily. Donner will shed profusely twice a year when the weather changes. His coat is waterproof, like a Lab's. He also has webbed feet, like a Lab's. This guy has a great outdoor coat type. He weighs right around 110 lbs. and stands 28 inches tall at the shoulders.
