WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS
While this puppy is small, she is growing well without any tendency toward stunted growth rate. This puppy is plump and has good energy. She eats well. She is gaining weight commiserate with her siblings.
BIRTH
This puppy came into the world with her sack intact. It was a thick sack, hard to open. She was head first and the sack did not break upon entry. This puppy wriggled around with gusto. She pooped just after birth. Her first breath was garbled slightly from a little water in her nose, but not forced or labored.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #2
This puppy moved around in a circle without making any noise when pet. This puppy was quiet, still, and loose during the lift. This puppy was not stiff during the turn. She was also quiet and did not yawn. However, the moment she felt movement from the handler, she moved her legs, as well. She appears highly alert and aware. She did not resist or try to right herself, though. This puppy's body was loose, but her head became slightly rigid when pet in an unfamiliar location. She opened her mouth in silence and stiffened her head at first. Then, she maintained a looseness when touched on the head. This puppy looked around at her surroundings in silence when placed back into the den away from her siblings. After this initial assessment, she waddled to another puppy and laid down. No noise or fuss.
This puppy receives a score of 8.5 for this second temperament test.
WEEK TWO OBSERVATIONS
This puppy is a licker. She is very aware and alert. She moves about really easily and has more energy than her siblings. This puppy is vibrant. This puppy loves affection and cuddling. She has a special bond with Dublin and hangs around him quite a bit.
WEEK ONE OBSERVATIONS
This puppy continues to be extremely smart. She does not get lost and always knows where mom is. This puppy gets what she wants and can push her way in. She is a master manipulator with the other puppies. She can become grumpy and cry out when she is barred from getting what she wants. She will try to go around the obstacle and doesn't give up easily. This puppy has stamina and will. She will likely be great at learning new tasks and will be best with a family who has had previous dog training experience. This puppy will enjoy learning and will be motivated if the reward value is high.
24-HOURS - PERSONAL OBSERVATIONS
Along with her larger sister, this puppy is the most like her working Lab/Shepherd ancestry. She is energetic and moves about with ease. She is also extremely smart and knows where she wants to go. She can be stubborn and pushy. When picked up she sets into action. She would have received a lower temperament testing score except she is very quiet at this time. Her energy is notable. She will likely require daily walks and a task to use her mind in order to not be bored in life (hence, find something else to do to eliminate her boredom). We recommend a family familiar with working breeds who may be more active to choose this girl.
TEMPERAMENT TEST #1
This puppy is extremely quiet... no sound whatsoever. She does not grunt or cry out or vocalize. This puppy is wriggly, moving her head and body around when touched or lifted. She moved around on the scale, her head bobbing here and there. When placed back away from mom, she moved vigorously in a circular motion. This puppy is energetic and vibrant. She has some energy and moves where she wills. She knew right where the milk bar was and drank vigorously. This puppy appears to be quite smart, quiet, and energetic.
This puppy receives a score of 7 for this temperament test.
