UPDATE: 02/13/2023
This puppy has passed away. He was never able to gain adequate weight despite the extra milk supplementation we provided for him. He was strong until the end. We are not sure what caused is inability to thrive, but this sometimes happens. We are grateful that he passed without pain. He had a lot of love and attention in his young life. Rest In Peace little man.

This puppy was thin and weak at birth, as well as tiny in size and light in weight. This puppy was under immediate observation from birth. He was weak in his movements and had difficulty navigating where he needed to go. He knew he needed to go somewhere because the other puppies were in a food frenzy, but he didn't have the awareness to get where he needed to go. Furthermore, he was also slow in his movements, so getting to mom before the other puppies could push their way past him was never going to happen. This puppy required constant supervision from the moment of his birth. He was placed on mom's milk first and if any puppy tried to push its way under him to dislodge him from his grasp, we were required to intervene for him so that he could feed longer. He had a weak sucking power, though, and so it took him longer to gain the same amount of milk than the other stronger puppies. Even that level of intervention was not enough. He eventually needed to be bottle fed to supplement his natural nursing. After a few days of extra supplementation, he began to put on weight and increase in size. He has grown steadily stronger as the days progress. This puppy continues to be monitored for consistent weight gain.

Temperament Test #1:
This puppy moved forward slightly during the rough pet, but was quiet. This puppy wiggled during the lift, but did not make a sound. This puppy wiggled and tried to right himself during the turn. He was quiet, though. This puppy writhed all around on the scale, almost falling off and causing the entire scale to shift. He was quiet about it, however. This puppy immediately moved forward when placed back in the den away from his siblings. He did not appear to have any sense of direction, but he did move in a straight line, propelling himself with all his little legs could carry him.
This puppy receives a score of 8 for this temperament test.

Birth Notes:
This puppy was born via c-section. This puppy weighed 1 lbs. 3 oz. at birth. He quickly lost weight to below 1 lbs. within 24 hours. After a few days, he is back up to his birth weight and gaining. This puppy has significant white spotting. His white patches rise to his elbows. He also has a white tipped tail with a large white patch on his chest.

This puppy is a small gold wolf sable male with significant white spotting. He has a small, thin head and body structure. His paws are tiny in proportion to his smaller size.
