She is fairly quiet and calm. She weighed 1lb.

  1. How does this puppy come into the world?

This puppy came into the world with ease. She did not fuss and went right to the milk. She does not fuss when mom licks or prods her. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

2. Noises this pup makes during the first 8 hours of life.

This puppy is quiet much of the time. She is quiet when suckling, moved or touched. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

3. What is the energy level of this pup?

This puppy is relatively calm much of the time. She goes from eating to sleeping with ease and does not make much of a fuss. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

4. What is the reaction of this pup to the first medical examination?
This puppy moved her head over the side of the scale and sniffed around below. Then she moved her head back into the scale and deliberately moved from edge to edge in a seeming effort to find the confines of the scales dimensions. She was silent and calm during this time. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

5. What is the reaction of this pup when turned over on its back?
This puppy was loose, still and quiet. She did not struggle, flail, cry out, or in any attempt to turn herself back over. Her body was relaxed. The handler thought perhaps she may have been sleeping, but when she was turned back over, she immediately took a breath and perked up as if she had been waiting patiently for the release. This puppy receives a score of 10 for this section.

6. What is the reaction of this pup when placed back with its mother?
This puppy immediately leaped in the forward direction, but the handler felt that she may have been prompted by slowly moving her hand away from the puppy, so she replaced the puppy to start again. The second time, the puppy moved in a slow, but dedicated direction. She was quiet and her head moved only slightly from one side to the other. When she felt her mother, she immediately sped up and went straight for mother in a deliberate way. She was in no way upset by being alone in an unknown location, but appeared to be consciously making decisions and acting on them. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

.

1.  Drop an object into the den away from the pups.

This puppy initially flinched, as all puppies did, but she remained still and quiet for several seconds after the sound had ended. After this period of stillness, she began to play with her siblings. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

  1. Using your whole hand, roughly pet the pup from muzzle to tail.

This puppy was a little groggy at first and I had to wake her up. After she awoke, the test began and she was loose, still and quiet much of the test. She did have a short period of stiffness and tilted her head to the side, but then relaxed and was loose and still. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

  1. Pick up the pup from its den using your whole hand to simulate mother dog's mouth.

This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the entire lift. She looked around slowly after two seconds. This puppy receives a score of 10 for this section.

  1. Turn the pup over on its back securely supported.

This puppy was loose, still, and quiet during the entire turn. She looked straight at the handler. This puppy receives a score of 10 for this section.

5. Place the pup in a high-sided wicker basket by itself. How does this pup act when separated from littermates?

This puppy sat for 6 seconds, then began to softly whimper and then cry as she moved about the bottom of the basket. Did not appear to be content to be alone in an unfamiliar place. This puppy receives a score of 6 for this section.

  1. Replace the pup back near its siblings, but not with them.  How does the pup react?

This puppy did not want to venture onto the new towel and walked all the way around it. At one point, she sniffed near her littermate, but did not go in that direction, instead she turned and moved in the opposite direction. At that point, she became distressed, crying and howling her discomfort. This puppy never did find her pack and cried for several minutes. When the handler did place her near the pack, she put her head down and went right to sleep. This puppy receives a score of 5 for this section.

This puppy receives an overall score of 7.83 for this test.

Temp Test #1: 9

Temp Test #2: 7.83

A small silver wolf gray female with significant white spotting. She has a pink nose and chin as well as all four white paws with white on her chest and down her belly. Her back left paw has the most significant white, but both front feet are white, as if she dipped them all in white paint.
