Headfirst in sack. He has a large head and weighs 1lb 3oz. He cries out and whimpers for his mother but knew right where the milk was and drank up. He moves about with ease but is more active thus far.

How does this puppy come into the world?

Constant crying and whimpering until he arrived at mom for milk. He knew that rooting with his nose would find milk, latched on and drank. Does not mind mom licking him, some grunting but not much. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this section.

This puppy moved his head to the side and then over the side. He did this on both sides of the scale, but did not attempt to climb out. He was quiet and did not grunt. He was also relatively calm apart from the moving his head over the side. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

5. What is the reaction of this pup when turned over on its back?
This puppy initially cried out and struggled, trying to trick the handler to allow him to turn over. When he could not accomplish this, he settled down into the turn and relaxed. He was then quiet and still. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

6. What is the reaction of this pup when placed back with its mother?
This puppy did not hestitate, but began moving in a straight direction toward his mother. It wasn't long before he felt her leg and when he did, he moved more quickly back to her without fuss or grunting. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

7. What is the reaction of this pup when touched by a human?

This puppy was quiet and calm. He moved slightly forward but then lay still and quiet. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

Puppy #1 - Koh-I-Noor Crown (yellow)

1.  Drop an object into the den away from the pups.
This puppy initially flinched, as all the puppies did, but recovered easily. He was not stiff and did not remain quiet and still after the initial sound. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this test.

1. Using your whole hand, roughly pet the pup from muzzle to tail.

This puppy looked up at the hand. His head dropped slightly with some brief stiffness, then quiet - as if thinking. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

1. Pick up the pup from its den using your whole hand to simulate mother dog's mouth.

This puppy was completely loose and quiet during the entire lift. This puppy receives a score of 10 for this section.

1. Turn the pup over on its back securely supported.

This puppy was completely loose and quiet during the entire turn. He receives a score of 10 for this section.

5. Place the pup in a high-sided wicker basket by itself. How does this pup act when separated from littermates?

This puppy lie still for eight seconds and then began grunting softly and moving his head slightly as if searching. He was a little shaky and moved with care around the bottom of the basket. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this section.

1. Replace the pup back near its siblings, but not with them.  How does the pup react?

This puppy was still as if thinking for five seconds and then began soft whining while walking back to the pack. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this section.

A large wolf gray male with four white paws, a large bit of white on his chest and belly and a long white tipped tail. He has a small white patch on his chin that will go away in a few days. Looks to be medium coated, not long and not short, at this time.
