Puppies born today severly dehydrated and glucose deficient due to Tina's intestinal blockage.  July 10, 2017 - Puppies brought to vet for hydration and glucose support. The puppies will not be on lactated ringers (sucutaneous fluids) and cathetered feeding to get their glucose content up. Puppies are under incubation at 85 to 90 degrees. Pups are still in critical condition at this time.  July 15, 2017 - Noticed one puppy, Lovie, has stomach ache and some diarrhea issues. We are checking her hydration levels constantly to make sure she remains hydrated. She continues to eat well. Puppies are now incubated at 79 to 81 degrees.  July 16, 2017 - Lovie continues to have diarrhea, but eats well despite her tummy troubles. Her hydration levels remain adequate and her weight remains stable. She is under constant watch for increased symptoms. uly 19, 2017 - All of the puppies have rallied and we no longer see diarrhea and all stools are normal. Each puppy is eating very well and sleeping a lot. They all enjoy snuggling when they are done eating and love to have their faces carressed.  The femur fractures are small and are already healing on their own, but Lovie's healing process bent her right femur. As a result, Lovie will likely always have a very slight gimp on her rear right leg throughout her life. It will not bother her in the least and she will heal completely possibly straightening some as she heals. She will not experience pain, but her femur will likely always be slightly bent. The two girls, Ginger and MaryAnn, are healing normally without any deformity. We are just stunned at this news and the veterinarians, as well, have never seen anything like this before. At this point, we may never know if the frail bones were due to the virus or if this is genetic in some way. September 30, 3017 - They are growing up so well. No indications at all of any injuries or illness. They are sweethearts that love to be with their people. They are hiking with us in the mornings and evenings. Such beauties.
