Citara is a purebred American Alsatian out of Am. Sel. Ch. Zorro Von Der Schwarz and Sooner Von Der Schwarz ROM. She is now 7 years old (june 22 2019) and was in training to become a certified search dog through Search and Rescue Dogs of Colorado. She is a very loving dog, but more energetic than normal due to her search dog training as a pup. As a pup, she was shy of stranger touch. She was never afraid of being around people, but would flinch when a stranger's hand came down to pet her. After maturing and being regularly socialized, Citara has turned out to accept anyone who is introduced to her. She quietly warms up to any stranger as long as she knows we accept them. If a stranger approaches her without our approval, she will move away and keep at a quiet, calm distance. She is extremely quiet and we had to coax her to bark when young in order to encourage an alert upon finding a lost subject. She has striking orange eyes and the large head and bone structure that makes her a solid, sound dog.
