Masquerade:
When an object was dropped that made an unexpected loud clatter, Masquerade looked in the direction of the object. She did not crouch or drop her head, but instead sat and thought for a moment, then got up and moved in the direction of the object. She receives a score of 10 for this category. While being pet roughly, this puppy looked toward the hand that was petting her as well as looked directly in the person's eyes. She did not move away or drop her head, but moved toward the person initiating more affection. She receives a score of 10 for this category. When being picked up simulating a mother's lift, she was very loose and accepting of the lift. She remained extremely quiet and still. She receives a score of 10+ for this category. When placed on her back, this puppy was initially loose and calm, but then moved to try to right herself. She receives a score of 6 for this category. (The next category was altered slightly and the following scores must not be considered standardized.) Upon placing this puppy in an enclosed space, she initially remained quiet and cautiously investigated. She eventually did not want to remain and whimpered and whined to be let out at the same time he gently wagged his tail. She receives a score of 7 for this category. When being placed back with her littermates, this puppy did not hesitate to go right back with her brothers and sister. Her tail wagged gently as she was greeted by all in the pen. She is very in tune with people and wants to be with them. Oftentimes, when I place her back in the pen she stays by the door and leans and wants to be back with people. She receives a score of 10 for this category. Overall, this lovely young lady receives a temperament score of 9.
