Using your whole hand, roughly pet the pup from muzzle to tail. This puppy sat up when first pet and then had some movement forward, but not much. This puppy's body was somewhat stiff and the puppy eventually stopped moving and stayed in place with rigidness. This puppy was quiet. This puppy receives a score of 4 for this category.

Pick up the pup from its den using your whole hand to simulate mother dog's mouth. This puppy showed some struggle on the lift, but it was feeble attempt. This puppy was silent during this portion of the test. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this category.

Turn the pup over on its back securely supported. This puppy struggled and stiffened even before the turn, but also during the turn.
