9:20 am (male) - l moved away from mom many times to go around her rear and away from belly/warmth, quiet, initial soft wheezing, dark silver wolf gray with white spotting, may appear similar in color to Bernese Mountain Dog, large size, stands up on back feet, lots of grunting, tiny white on forehead.

Sat with the puppies today and noticed a few things about each of them that I wanted to share here for you. 

Master Po: This puppy is definitely the master. He is confident, secure and is not a follower. He is a calm and gentle soul that loves to be near and close. His eyes penetrate as he looks directly at you in order to get to know you better. He will sit for a long while just to be near. This puppy does not mind the antics of the other pups and isn't swayed by peer-pressure. haha. That is due to his confidence. That being said, he is not independent in the sense that he must have his way. He doesn't fight for position and doesn't want conflict. Very sweet and loving. This puppy is calm and gentle and smart. He is a less serious type of puppy and may be more outgoing in nature as he grows... not overly excitable by strangers, but confidently interested in them. This puppy is plush-coated with a soft furry undercoat and will likely seasonally shed like a Malamute. His coat is thick and soft and will require brushing, especially if he goes into the brush on hiking trips or gets into some sticker bushes. This puppy is a black/tan with white legs, very much like the look of a Bernese Mountain Dog. In fact, his coat is very similar in texture, as well. His ears may or may not rise and I give it a 50/50 chance. He is large in body and large in head size. A very big boy with a calm, gentle, sweet, loving attitude. A strong, all-around great pup. 

Puppy #3 - Master Po, Dragon Warrior
Loud object: This puppy sat up and looked around with some whining. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.
Rough pet: This puppy moved sideways with an almost desperate feel to his movements, but then he stopped and allowed the pet. He made soft, almost inaudible grunts. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.

Lift: This puppy was loose at first then pumped his feet slightly. He also continued to make soft, almost inaudible grunting sounds. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.

Turn over: This puppy was loose upon the turn and his body remained loose the entire time. At one point, he tried to move his head to the side by when he found resistence he stopped moving, but commenced with the faint grunts. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this category.

Basket: This puppy was slow moving around the edge of the basket, sniffing the bottom. He continued with the faint grunting sounds. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this category.

Return: This puppy took a moment before going striaight to the pile of puppies. His tail was slightly curled and seemed to be in a stiff position. His movements looked to be in a crouch. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.

This puppy receives an overall score of 7.5 for this test. 

How does this pup come into the world?

This puppy was on the move the moment it was born. He moved away from mom and siblings several times during the first few hours of life. This puppy receives a score of 6 for this section.

This puppy is on the move. He goes around the edge of the whelping pen, oftentimes seen away from his siblings working his way toward his mom. He does not fuss/cry/whine to be away from siblings or mom. This puppy receives a score of 5 for this section.

This puppy moved his legs up and under his belly when lifted. He grunted when handler opened mouth. This puppy moved on the scale. This puppy receives a score of 6 for this section.

What is the reaction of this pup when turned over on its back?

This puppy struggled, whinted, cried out and yawned. This puppy receives a score of 6 for this section.

What is the reaction of this pup when placed back with its mother?

This puppy moved immdiately in a circle and continued to cry out for a while after he returned to his pack. This puppy receives a score of 6 for this section.

What is the reaction of this pup when touched by a human?

This puppy moves into action. He moves his feet and propels himself forward, grunting all the while. He is not stiff. This puppy receives a score 7 for this section.
