Puppy #1:

6:50 am (male) -super quiet and calm, head first in sack, some soft grunting, very calm and slow/methodical about moving, small white on front/back right toes and chest, medium tail length, round face, shorter muzzle, more soft grunting over time.

Sat with the puppies today and noticed a few things about each of them that I wanted to share here for you.

Grizzly: This puppy is masculine and macho in build. He has a lot of muscular undertones and a large, broad chest and head. He is confident and isn't a follower. He is more self-assured and able to make his own decisions. This puppy is gentle and calm. He has his mother's coloring and will be a gold wolf gray (some people say sable) with light eyes. It is likely that his ears will rise. He will look very much like a wolfish-looking German Shepherd Dog with unexpected light eyes. He has a medium length coat with a low amount of undercoat, which equals less shedding and easily managed coat type. Going to be very beautiful with a secure, stable, confident, yet gentle and calm demeanor, able to weather trials and tribulations with relative ease. He is also intuitive and smart. Great all-around pup here.

This puppy is generally very calm and stationary. He does not move about much, only to get to the pile of puppies or to get to mom. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section. 

What is the reaction of this pup to the first medical examination?

This puppy was extremely quiet. He wiggled and moved about gently, not forcefully. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this section.

What is the reaction of this pup when turned over on its back?

This puppy was initially calm and quiet. After five seconds he moved his feet and tried feebly to right himself. He grunted ever so softly when he could not do so. He continued to struggle without much force for twenty seconds. He gave a sigh, but then continued to struggle again moving his head back and forth. This puppy receives a score of 6 for this section.

What is the reaction of this pup when placed back with its mother?

This puppy immediately sought the puppy pile and went to lie down on top of the pile. He was quiet and slow/methodical in his movements. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

What is the reaction of this pup when touched by a human?

This puppy startles when awakened, but then moves its feet slowly going higher up into the pile of puppies. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this section.

Loud object: This puppy sat up and looked around then whined. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.
Rough pet: This puppy was quiet and did not move forward or backward. He was slightly stiff. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.

Lift: This puppy was quiet during the lift. He did move his legs up with some struggle. He grunted softly at the end. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this category.

Turn over: This puppy was still and quiet for the first ten seconds after which he struggled and grunted. This puppy receives a score of 7 for this category.

Basket: This puppy sniffed and walked along the edge and then climbed up on the edge and grunted. This puppy receives a score of 8 for this category. 

Return: This puppy returned to the pile without a sound. This puppy receives a score of 9 for this category.
