About the Litter

The Brothers Grimm couldn't have picked a better story to tell then this beautiful match between Stanley and Galena.

This litter will be a second generation from the most recent Lab/Shepherd crossbreed. 75% of the puppies should be dominant black in coloration with bright yellow eyes. We expect ears to rise in some pups, but some may not. Short to medium length coats expected with high seasonal shedding. The puppies are expected to be right around 100 lbs, with some pups, especially females, hanging around the 90-98 lbs range. 27 - 28 inches tall as adults standing on all fours.

Some of the puppies may be more vocal than others. The more vocal types may "talk" to you or give a warning bark at unknown occurrences in their surroundings (like a stranger, a stray dog, or a deer passing by). Some pups will be more cautious of strangers, other will be more confident around strangers. Aloof is a good word to describe this litter. Socialization will be necessary. The puppies may exhibit more of a need for exercise, so if you like jogging or being outdoors, this litter will be better at those activities than some of our more chill, calm type dogs. Great with kids, other dogs, and cats. Some puppies may show a small tendency to resource guard, although the pups will be submissive in nature and yield to authority without issue. (Thus, correcting any resource guarding tendencies should not be difficult)

This is a highly genetically diverse litter with only 1% inbreeding coefficient on a five generation pedigree and 98% ancestor loss coefficient in four generations. High immune diversity will also be the result in this litter, meaning they have a better ability to fight off any diseases due to immune issues. Both parents have been DNA tested clear of over 250 genetic diseases in dogs. No familial history of hip/elbow dysplasia.

We will keep at least one male and one female, although it is possible we may keep two of each. This litter will be an important link to the future of this line.

Puppies will range in price from $2800 - $3800.

Any puppies kept in the breed will not be for sale.
